Ms. Patricia Austin is an advanced practice community/public health nurse, and academician with more than 20 years of experience in various health care delivery systems and health policy development.
She received her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Bowie State University with a focus in Community /Public Health Nursing and Education. She was an Eli Lilly Fellow who served as a Health Policy Analyst with the National Black Caucus of State Legislators. Ms. Austin has worked with diverse populations in both urban and rural settings.
She is experienced not only as a clinician, but in program development and evaluation. Work force development has been a passion of Ms. Austin’s; she served as an Organization Development Consultant for a major managed care organization in Washington DC. She has published several articles and studies related to Asthma among minority populations, and presented at local as well as national conferences.
As an educator, Ms. Austin has served as adjunct professor at the University of the District of Columbia School of Nursing, guest speaker on various health topics on several of the local talk radio shows. Most recently participated in an interview on the new internet based radio station -Women’s Radio Network supporting women’s empowerment.
Ms. Austin currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of HSC Home Care, LLC in Washington DC and HSC Health & Residential Services in Landover Maryland.
